Diversity & inclusion

Broadly, diversity and inclusion (D&I) means accepting every individual for what and who they are and respecting and celebrating the differences between people.

Attracting diverse talent

Diverse talent means having a mix of employees who are representative of the population as a whole, but more specifically representative of your:

  1. client base

  2. client’s mix of employees

  3. client’s target audience

In practice it means having:

  1. gender equality at all levels of seniority

  2. employees from different cultures, religions and ethnic backgrounds

  3. employees from different socio-economic backgrounds (to increase social mobility)

  4. employees of different ages

  5. employees of different sexual orientations (eg lesbian, gay or bisexual) and different gender identities (eg trans or non-binary)

  6. neuro-diverse employees (eg on the autistic spectrum)

  7. a balance of different personality types, eg introvert and extravert

A diverse range of employees ensures a firm has a blend of thoughts, opinions, experiences and perspectives and also provides linguistic, cultural and experiential benefits. Combined with an inclusive and supportive culture, this mix will have positive benefits for the firm
